Stillscript is provided by Henri Roos, c/o MDC#1821, Welserstraße 3, 87463 Dietmannsried, Germany, email: [email protected] ("we"). These terms apply to the web app at stillscript.com and to the Pro Pass.
Stillscript turns audio and video recordings into text. Transcription runs entirely in your browser on your device. We don't receive your recordings or texts. Details are in the privacy policy.
Without an account, you can transcribe 60 minutes of recordings each calendar month. Minutes are counted in your browser. We may change the scope of the free plan for the future.
You buy the Pro Pass through our payment partner Polar Software, Inc., which acts as merchant of record. Polar's terms, shown to you at checkout, apply to the purchase itself, payment, invoicing and any statutory right of withdrawal.
After purchase, you receive a license key by email. With the key, you can use Stillscript without a minute limit for 3 months from purchase. After that the pass ends on its own. There is no subscription and nothing to cancel.
The key is for your personal use. You may use it on your own devices but not share, sell or publish it. We may disable the key in case of misuse.
Regardless of statutory rights, we'll refund the price of the Pro Pass if you email [email protected] within 14 days of purchase. No reason needed. The key is disabled with the refund.
Speech recognition is automatic and makes mistakes, especially with accents, technical terms, echo or a poor microphone. Check transcripts before you use them, for example for quotes in academic work.
How fast Stillscript runs depends on your device and browser. It works best on a computer with Chrome or Edge. It isn't reliable on phones and tablets yet.
Your transcripts are stored only in your browser. If you clear your browser data, they're gone, so download important transcripts. We don't have a copy and can't restore anything.
Only transcribe recordings you lawfully own and may use. Conversations may only be recorded with everyone's consent. You are responsible for your participants' consent and for handling their data.
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health and under the German Product Liability Act. For slight negligence, we are only liable if we breach an essential obligation that makes using Stillscript possible in the first place, and only for foreseeable damage typical for this kind of contract. Otherwise liability is excluded.
We keep developing Stillscript and may change features. We won't make a purchased Pro Pass worse during its term. We try to keep Stillscript available but can't promise uninterrupted availability.
German law applies. Mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you habitually live remain unaffected. If any provision is invalid, the rest remain valid.
We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
